Pony Ride

MUST READ BEFORE BOOKING – PONY RIDES

Our pony rides are a short, lead‑rein experience around our pony paddock. We want every child to have a lovely time, and we also want to be clear about what to expect and how we keep everyone safe.

Tickets

·         Pony ride tickets are released daily at 9.30am.

·         Tickets are limited and the number of rides available depends on pony availability on the day.

·         You must also have valid Farm Park entry tickets for the same day, with an admission time before your pony ride slot.

Rider requirements (for safety)

To take part, children must be:

·         At least 2 years old

·         Under 6 stone in weight

·         Below 1.40m in height

What to expect on the day

·         Each ride lasts approximately 2–3 minutes.

·         We will provide a riding hat. All riders must wear it for the full duration of the ride.

·         Parents/guardians may walk alongside their child if they feel it is necessary.

·         Other spectators must remain in the fenced viewing area.

·         Please note: you may not always be able to ride the pony of your choice.

·         No dogs are allowed within the pony areas.

Our right to pause, stop or decline a ride

For the welfare of the ponies and the safety of visitors, we reserve the right to:

·         Decline a ride if we believe it would be unsafe to proceed (for example, if a child does not meet the rider requirements or is unable to follow staff instructions).

·         Stop rides if a pony becomes distressed.

·         Stop rides due to unsafe weather or ground conditions.

In these circumstances, a full refund for the pony ride ticket will be given.

Inherent risk – important information for parents/guardians

Ponies are living animals. Even with careful selection, training and supervision, they can sometimes behave unpredictably. By booking and participating, the parent/guardian acknowledges and accepts that pony riding involves inherent risks, including (but not limited to) falls, bumps, scrapes, being stepped on, bites, kicks, or a pony spooking or moving suddenly.

We take reasonable steps to reduce risks (including lead‑rein supervision and providing safety headwear), however these measures do not eliminate all risks.

Assumption of risk, responsibility and indemnity

By booking and/or allowing a child to participate, you confirm that you are the child’s parent/legal guardian (or have permission of the parent/legal guardian) and that you:

·         voluntarily choose to participate and assume responsibility for the risks of injury, loss or damage arising from your child’s participation (except where caused by our negligence);

·         agree to follow all staff instructions and site rules, and to ensure your child does the same;

·         agree to supervise your child at all times before and after the ride and while in the pony areas; and

·         agree to indemnify and hold harmless our business, its owners, employees and volunteers from and against claims, demands, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses arising from your child’s participation, to the extent permitted by law (excluding liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

Please think carefully before booking – no‑refund situations

Refunds will not be given in the following circumstances:

·         If you do not attend your ride time.

·         If you arrive late and pony rides have ended for that session.

·         If your child chooses to stop the ride once it has started.
